Scratch & Peck Organic Layer Pellets + Grub Protein
Scratch and Peck Feeds Naturally Free Organic Layer Feed 16% is a special blend of cracked organic grains, organic flax meal, and select vitamins and minerals sourced from North American farms. Similar to Naturally Free Organic Starter and Grower, our Naturally Free Organic Layer Feed 16% contains an optimum level of protein for layers.
This feed is appropriate for laying hens ages 20+ weeks that may require extra protein to support increased egg production during molting season. The higher levels of calcium found in this blend help to produce stronger eggshells.
This feed is suitable for ducks, geese, and all waterfowl.
Your hens should be approaching their full grown size at approximately 20 weeks of age. Begin introducing Naturally Free Organic Layer 16% gradually to allow for a slow adjustment to the new feed formula. This is more important when switching from a different type of feed such as crumbles or pellets as your chickens may not immediately know how to consume a mash style feed.
