Gentle giants with feathered feet, Brahmas are cold-hardy and perfect for backyard flocks. This Assorted Brahma pack includes a hatchery mix of Buff, Light, and Dark varieties. Named for India's Brahmaputra River, these enormous birds likely arrived in the U.S. on 19th-century sailing ships. Thick plumage on their feet and shanks keeps them warm through harsh winters. Brahmas are calm, friendly, and docile—ideal around children and other birds. Hens lay approximately 200 medium-sized brown eggs per year, often go broody, and make attentive mothers.
