Modesto Milling Organic Senior Pellet is made with the premium organic ingredients and is nutritionally balanced to complement the horse’s forage. The Organic Senior Pellet is made to be lower in starch for horses that require a concentrate feed but may not need the calories that come from high levels of starch. Organic Senior Pellets are made with organic alfalfa meal, wheat millrun and coconut meal to provide sources of highly digestible fiber that are low in starch. Like the Horse Supplement Pellet, the Organic Horse Senior Pellet contains a small amount of oats to add palatability and beta-glucans for gastro-intestinal health. This feed is formulated without soy, corn, or molasses for conscientious horse owners who prefer to avoid these types of ingredients. As a pelleted feed, it keeps choosy horses from sorting out their favorite parts of the feed and leaving the rest. As a plus, the pellets can also be easily soaked to make a mash for older horses that may struggle with dental loss and sensitivity.

Organic Horse Senior Pellet is appropriate for the following types of horses:

Use: Formulated specifically for horses that need a concentrate feed to supply additional calories to the forage part of the diet. This feed is appropriate for senior horses and ponies as well as maintenance and performance horses that need a lower starch option when fed within the recommended feeding rate.

Feeding directions: Feed 0.4-1.2 lbs per 100 lbs. body weight per day with forage. Adjust the amount to maintain a proper body weight for the type of activity. Do not feed more than 5.0 lbs at a single feeding to not overwhelm the digestive tract. It is recommended to feed at least 1.5% of the horse's body weight in forage. Senior Pellets can be served dampened for the horse with dental problems. Provide fresh, clean water at all times. Free choice salt is also recommended.
